辽阳Gu Jun investigates the Institute of Atomic Energy: Insist on innovation driven and do a good job of providing important support for the development of the nuclear industry in the new era

On August 4, Gu Jun, Director, General Manager and Deputy Secretary of the Party Leadership Group of CNNC, went to the China Academy of Atomic Energy for inspection and guidance. Gu Jun emphasized that scientific and technological innovation is the core and guidance of implementing the innovation driven development strategy. As an important supporting force for the innovation and development of the nuclear industry, the IAEA should speed up its pace, drive innovation with reform, drive development with innovation, and adapt to the new requirements of the new era. Zubin, the director and deputy secretary of the Party Leadership Group of CNNC, Li Dingcheng, a member of the Party Leadership Group and deputy general manager, and Chen Shutang, a member of the Party Leadership Group and chief accountant, accompanied the inspection.

Gu Jun pointed out that the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China put forward the historical mission of the Party in the new era, described a grand blueprint for the new era, and made a strategic deployment for the new era. The nuclear industry has broad prospects for development in the new era, but at the same time, we are also facing enormous pressure and challenges. The current task of the IAEA is very heavy. It is necessary to further effectively promote the transformation of scientific and technological achievements on the basis of achieving difficult technological breakthroughs; We should further emancipate our minds, improve the system and mechanism, and make structural adjustments and reforms in the talent structure, industrial development model, income distribution and other aspects to meet the needs of development; The broad masses of cadres and workers shoulder the historical responsibility, and must be more determined and more specific to achieve our goals step by step.

During the inspection and guidance, Gu Jun listened to the general situation, main tasks, management work, progress in 2018 and other special reports of the Atomic Energy Institute, and communicated with the leaders of the Atomic Energy Institute on the traveling wave reactor, the development layout of the atomic energy institute base, the construction of the nuclear industry university, the construction of the scientific research system and other specific work. Gu Jun and his delegation also inspected the swimming pool type low-temperature heating reactor, China Experimental Fast Reactor, nuclear fuel reprocessing radiochemical experimental facility, 100MeV high current proton cyclotron, etc., and fully affirmed the achievements of the IAEA in recent years.
